Following its enormous success during Chapter 4 Season 5, many players are wondering when Fortnite’s OG season will return to take them back in time again. Here’s everything we know so far about Fortnite OG’s return.

Fortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 5 brought huge success for Epic Games’ battle royale, with over 100 active players enjoying all the game’s content. Among them, were a variety of challenges, fan-favorite items, and of course, the return of the game’s original map.

However, with the release of Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 1 on December 3, the original season has come to an end, taking away the classic experience that players enjoyed so much.

This is why many are wondering if Fortnite OG will return to the game in the future, so, here’s all you need to know.

Will Fortnite OG season return?

Fortnite OG is set to return in 2024. In a December 2 post, Epic Games said “the OG season far exceeded our expectations” and teased its place in the 2024 roadmap.

Following the biggest hype among the community before its release, the OG season has achieved a “new all-time player peak” surpassing three million simultaneous players.

Fortnite’s OG season carried a trip down memory lane not only for current players of Epic Games’ title but also welcomed back returning players, offering them the chance to revive a cherished experience. Luckily for all those players who enjoyed the return of the OG experience, given their massive support, the Fortnite team was quick to announce that it will return next year.

However, the mode won’t come back in the exact form as players remember. Epic Games’ Exectituve VP, Saxx Persson, told Axios: “It’s just a matter of how and when, and how do we make it so it’s not just the same.”

The dev didn’t go into details about how the mode would change ahead of its 2024 return, but players have speculated it could last longer and revisit more maps, or even expand into Chapter 2.

We’ll be sure to update this piece as new information is announced as we get closer to the fan-favorite season’s comeback.
