Fortnitemares 2021 has brought a brand-new melee weapon known as the Sideways Scythe to Fortnite Season 8, and here’s everything you need to do if you want to get your hands on it.

Fortnitemares 2021 has added a ton of fun new content for Fortnite fans to enjoy. Season 8’s Cubes have now converged, you can collect Candy in Fortnitemares Quests, and an Ariana Grande skin is on its way.

The Cube Queen has brought her wrath to Fortnite Island, and if you want to survive a battle against her Cube Monsters then we recommend getting the new Sideways weapon known as the Sideways Scythe.

If you want to get this item then you’ll need to head to a Sideways Zone. This new Sideways weapon was added as part of the 18.21 update, and it’s the first new melee weapon to arrive in Fortnite for a while.

These spawn at the start of every match and you can spot them easily when jumping from the Battle Bus. They resemble giant orange energy domes over some of the POIs, and you can easily track these on the map.

We recommend landing directly at these spots after jumping from the Battle Bus so that you get there ahead of your opponents. Once you’re there, you just need to open up Sideways Chests until you find a Sideways Scythe.

This weapon comes with a combo of five basic melee attacks along with a powerful jump attack that you can activate by jumping in the air and pressing the ‘fire’ button to damage nearby foes.

You can also use the ‘aim’ button to run quickly for a short duration and then launch a spin attack by pressing the ‘fire’ button. You can upgrade the weapon by defeating Cube Monsters and collecting Cube Monster Parts.
