The 18.30 update patch added a new Exotic Weapon called the Icy Grappler that lets you zip around the map. You can get your hands on it the next time you hop into a game of Fortnite.

Here’s how to get the Icy Grappler Exotic weapon in Fortnite Season 8.

You can get the Fortnite Icy Grappler by purchasing it from the NPC Fabio Sparklemane. This character can be found at the Apres Ski cabin on the top of the mountain southwest of Misty Meadows.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Travel to the Apres Ski cabin
  2. Interact with Fabio Sparklemane
  3. Select the option to purchase the Icy Grappler
  4. Confirm the purchase

Purchasing the Icy Grappler will cost you 300 Gold Bars, which is much cheaper than other Exotic Weapons. You can check out our guide on how to earn and spend Gold Bars in Fortnite.

How to use the Icy Grappler in Fortnite

The normal Grappler in Fortnite allows you to zoom around the map and reach higher areas by pressing the ‘fire’ trigger. The Icy Grappler works similarly but also provides you with a Frozen Feet effect.

This reduces your maneuverability and makes it harder for you to turn while also boosting your movement speed so that you can get around quicker. The effect will last for approximately 30 seconds and can be canceled by entering a body of water or getting knocked down.

You can’t use the Icy Grappler in competitive playlists, but it’s still a fun Exotic weapon to use, so be sure to get it for yourself the next time you hop into a game of Fortnite.
