Fortnite Gold Bars

You’ll want to get Gold Bars in Fortnite and use them to purchase weapons, hire NPCs, and more. Here’s how to get Gold Bars in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.

Gold Bars are one of the most useful resources you can get your hands on in Fortnite. They’re relatively easy to collect and you get to keep them between matches so you can spend them when the time is right.

You can hire NPCs, upgrade your weapons, and even become a prop by using Gold Bars in Fortnite. Plus, you sometimes need to spend or gather certain amounts of Gold Bars for Weekly Quests and other challenges.

Here’s how to get Gold Bars in Fortnite and everything you can spend them on.

Fortnite Vault
Vaults hold a large amount of Gold Bars in Fortnite.

You can get Gold Bars in several ways in Fortnite, but some are more lucrative than others. Here’s every way to earn Gold in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.

The easiest, but not necessarily the most lucrative, method of earning Gold Bars in Fortnite is by simply looting around the island. Here are some examples of things you can break and loot for Gold in Fortnite Season 2:

  • Chests
  • Rare Chests
  • Cash Registers
  • Safes
  • Beds
  • Sofas
  • Washing machines

As you gear up for the game ahead, make sure you’re breaking and interacting with these objects to get some extra Gold.

There are currently four different Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, and you’ll need to defeat an NPC to get its Keycard. Vaults contain Chests, Rare Chests, Safes, and even Sofas, so you’ll have many sources of Gold Bars to choose from. You’ll also find large stacks of Gold Bars you’ll need to destroy with your Pickaxe to get.

You can find Vaults in the following locations:

  • Rebel’s Roost
  • Estate Station (south of Lavish Lair)
  • Coastal Comms (northeast of Classy Courts)
  • Unmoored Manor (west of Brawler’s Battleground)

Eliminate players

While looting is a big part of battle royale games, your ultimate goal is to be the last player standing. This means you’ll probably end up taking out a few players over the course of the match. Make sure to loot them afterward, as fallen players often drop around 8 Gold Bars.

Complete SHADOW Briefings

If you want to earn even more Gold Bars for eliminating players in Fortnite, then you can complete Shadow Briefings. Players can find Shadow computers all around the map, offering different tasks you’ll need to complete to get Gold Bars. These objectives include eliminating players, traveling distance in vehicles, finding lost treasure, or opening a Supply Drop. If you’re successful, you’ll be awarded a pile of Gold.

NPCs no longer give bounties in Fortnite, so you’ll need to find Shadow Briefings around the map. Here are the locations of all Shadow Briefings in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2:

Golden Chickens & Eggs

Thanks to the Rise of Midas event, players can find Golden Chickens in Chapter 5 Season 2. This is the fastest way to get a ton of gold, as Chickens can lay Golden Eggs that rewards players with 350 Gold Bars. On the other hand, Golden Chickens give you 12 Gold Bars if you eliminate them. You’ll find them roaming around the map, but you’ll have better chances trying in grassy areas close to Fencing Fields.

Became a prop

If you’re a stealthy Fortnite player who likes to hide in bushes, then turning into a prop is the next best thing. By approaching certain NPCs, you can spend Gold to turn into a random prop such as a barrel or trashcan.

Here’s which NPC can turn you into a Prop in Season 2:

  • Medusa in Fencing Fields

Hire characters

Some Fortnite NPCs are hireable, and in Chapter 5 Season 2, they can be great assets in battle. Hired characters won’t only follow you everywhere and fight enemies alongside you, but they can also provide healing, ammo, and even mark enemy players or revive teammates.

There are currently eight hireable characters in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 and you can find them in the following locations:
