Handy LEGO Fortnite tricks mean you’ll never get lost in a Cave again
Epic GamesExploring caves is an essential activity in LEGO Fortnite if you want to get some of the rarest resources in the survival experience. Players are sharing interesting tips to explore caves without getting lost in the process.
LEGO Fortnite allows players to build villages in the different biomes of their randomly generated maps, and to do that, they need many different resources. While some of the early materials are available almost everywhere, reaching different village levels will demand players get rarer resources, like Obsidian, Ruby, Iron, and more.
Most of the rarest materials are only found in Caves, especially Lava Caves and Ice Caves. These areas are full of dangers, and many of them are huge, which makes exploring them a very arduous task where many players can get lost easily.
Because of this, Reddit user ‘CodeyKane’ asked the community: “Do caves ever get a map or are we supposed to just go by memory the whole time.” The most direct answer to this was provided by another player: “Nope. No maps as far as i know.” However, others quickly chimed in to share useful tips to avoid getting lost when exploring Caves in LEGO Fortnite.
“Every time you cross a room, add a fire on the right side, so when you look for the way out follow the ones that are in the left side,” commented a Reddit user. Others agreed with them, adding that you can make Candles with one Vine, making this the preferred method for many. Some users also place Campfires in different areas of the Caves since it’s much easier to spot them from a distance.
Another player suggested throwing Torches along the way, but others quickly pointed out that Torches despawn when you log out of the game, rendering this method useless.
“If you follow the fireflies, they will lead you to an exit,” added another player. Explorers can spot these glowing bugs when they go from one room to another inside a Cave. And while this method is the easiest to follow, it’s worth noting that fireflies can lead you to an exit you haven’t found before.
“I’ve entered some caves where I get lost until finding a completely different exit that puts me out halfway across the map,” another player added. While these different methods are great to avoid getting lost in a Cave, others think it’s fun to go in blindly. However, Lava Caves and Ice Caves can damage you if you don’t have Charms or food with special effects, so keep that in mind when exploring.

- Place a campfire a few steps ahead from the entrance so it can be seen from multiple directions.
- Place more campfires any time you pass to another gallery or ‘room’ (marked with green lightbugs)
- Go in circles, follow always the right side wall or the left side, like if you were a car. When you reach the end, you will end up going back.
- Get lost. It’s part of the fun.
