Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is now live, and while the spotlight is on the Greek gods and goddesses, players have pointed out the “ridiculous” store prices for the newly-added LEGO Fortnite bundles.

Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 5 has now begun, and not only did it add Greek gods like Zeus to the battle royale, but players can also wield some of their godly power, which has made for some epic showdowns. Its other mode, LEGO Fortnite, hasn’t received much love.

One of the additions to the mode was the LEGO Kits to the shop, which lists multiple bundles with a bunch of pre-designed buildings and items that you can buy for V-Bucks in LEGO Fortnite. But it isn’t cheap, and now players are calling out its “bulls**t” pricing.

Reddit user ‘Skylanderformer’ made the post on the ‘FortNiteBR’ subreddit saying, “Yeah Epic needs to make a new finance department, this is ridiculous.”

The OP pointed to the Beachside Boulevard Bundle, which includes 7 builds and 44 decor items. It costs 1,900 V-Bucks currently, which is roughly $18.

This isn’t even the most expensive item in the LEGO Kits shop in Fortnite, a new Lion Knight’s Castle Bundle will be added for 2,500 V-Bucks later, and the only other set available now costs 2,000 V-Bucks. And these are all “discount” rates.

Many in the comments said that these shop prices aren’t fair, especially for a not-yet-fledged-out mode like LEGO Fortnite: “I like how they’re charging 2.5k vbees for virtual legos for a game mode that still has yet to have a core gameplay loop nor an actual endgame. Greed at its finest. Any whales who buy this should be ashamed for supporting it.”

Another user said, “Why does Epic act as if Lego Fortnite is a stand-alone game? Like this barely qualifies as an alpha.”

Others, meanwhile, said that for a creative mode where you’re supposed to build stuff, having these things locked behind a paywall is stupid, “Like they’ve actually gone f**k this whole cosmetic only s**t, that’s like if Minecraft made you pay to use stone or something. I don’t even play Lego but this is bulls**t.”
