Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is set to arrive very soon and players are eagerly awaiting all the fresh content it will bring. Here are the patch notes for the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 update and everything arriving.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has been one of the most ambitious installments of the battle royale to date, bringing everything from a new Ranked Play mode to a new Star Wars crossover complete with powerful Force abilities.

But the next major update is never too far away and fans are looking ahead at what Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 will have in store for them. Luckily, the patch notes have arrived, giving us a thorough idea of what’s to come in the new season and its Battle Pass.

Here are the full Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 patch notes, including the start date and content.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 start date

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 will get underway on Friday, June 9, 2023, as confirmed by an in-game message. Season 2 has come to an end as of 2 AM ET / 11 PM PT / 7 AM BST, and so Chapter 3 is due to kick off shortly.

Although the devs haven’t announced how long the downtime will last, players can expect the game to be offline for a few hours while the update is prepared.

The official trailer for Chapter 4 Season 3 was released during the Summer Game Fest 2023 Opening Showcase.

New jungle area in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 will feature a jungle theme under the “WILDS” title. A huge portion of the map’s center has collapsed, exposing a new ancient jungle area with a temple. This area is host to Raptors, which players can ride by jumping on top of them to traverse the new area.

Players will also find mud in the new jungle biome, which provides you with a boost of speed when you slide through it as well as some camouflage.

As it’s a jungle, vines are prominent, and players can use them to their advantage by jumping on them to grind and ride them. You can use weapons while grinding vines, making it a solid method for getting around the map and pushing enemies.

The jungle features thick foliage, so the best high ground in this area is the canopy. Players can ascend the jungle’s canopies and fire down on enemies from above.

The jungle also features “new, dangerous vegetation,” which players can use to their advantage. Bomb Flowers can be shot for an explosion, Stink Flowers can be shot to unleash a toxic gas, Slurp Plants can heal you up with a swing of your pickaxe, and Hop Flowers will give you a boost in vertical mobility without fall damage.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 new weapons

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 introduces five new weapons for players, so make sure to keep an eye out for these when your looting. You can see all of the new weapons coming in the update below:

  • Thermal DMR:
    • “Battle in the jungle, see how a jungle animal sees. While looking through the scope of the Thermal DMR, turn on thermal vision to more easily detect your enemies. “
  • Flapjack Rifle:
    • “Make heads turn as you best enemies and structures with the Flapjack Rifle. Heads won’t be the only thing turning — this new weapon features a spinning magazine! (You can find the Mythic version of this weapon from Vaults requiring Keycards.)”
  • Kinetic Boomerang:
    • “Throw the Kinetic Boomerang to hit enemies in its flight path… AND its return path. Miss your target? Recall the boomerang early to trigger a small explosion and try again!”
  • Cybertron Cannon:
    • “There’s going wild, then there’s having a blast. Take up a Cybertron Cannon on the Island to launch a powerful, quick, and explosive projectile. “
  • Wildwasp Jar:
    • “A hostile insect species known as Wildwasps inhabit the jungle, preferring to swarm around certain plants. Gather them in a jar to throw at enemies! (The Wildwasps set their sights on ? Jump in water or cover yourself in mud to get them off your tail.)”

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Optimus Prime confirmed

The marquee crossover for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is finally confirmed and it’s none other than Optimus Prime. The Autobot leader will be part of the new Battle Pass to celebrate the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it seems like Optimus will be the Tier 100 Outfit players can unlock in the Battle Pass.

Players can expect other Transformers elements in this new Fortnite season, like other characters or POIs with quests to complete.
