Pictomancer job FF14

The Final Fantasy XIV Tokyo Fan Fest of 2024 revealed the Pictomancer job, a new Magical DPS coming to Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail. Along with the Vyper and the Beastmaster jobs, the Pictomancer is one of the new options for players to tackle during their Tural adventures.

Some of the things that every Final Fantasy 14 player looks forward to when a new expansion drops are the new jobs available. Jobs are classes in the Final Fantasy world, and as every MMO out there, they fall into the DPS, Healer, or Tank roles.

The community was happy to receive the Sage job in the Endwalker expansion, where the healing process was made using attacks, and the role changed its perspective. With many DPS jobs in the game, the new additions to Dawntrail are the Vyper and Pictomancer jobs, which look slightly different from the rest.

Here’s all you need to know about the Pictomancer, a new Magical DPS job coming to Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail.

Final Fantasy XIV: Pictomancer job explained

The Pictomancer job is the new class being added to Final Fantasy 14 in the Dawntrail expansion of 2024. The Magical DPS job focuses on using a magic brush to bring artistic creations to life based on existing weapons, monsters, and even landscapes.

Pictomancer in FF14
Pictomancers take power from Aether and turn it into drawings of monsters, weapons, and more.

Its weapons seem to be the Magic Paintbrush and an artist’s palette, falling into a similar composition of two objects in one weapon, like the Red Mage job with its Rapier and Catalyst.

The Pictomancer goes back to one of the classics in the franchise, and it was Relm Arrowny from Final Fantasy VI who introduced the Magic Brush into the series. The Magical DPS job will mix things up, as the last Caster DPS added to the game was the Red Mage, back in 2017, in the Stormblood expansion.
