Although it’s never dominated the meta, the MX9 has been a consistently underrated SMG and popular streamer FaZe Booya’s loadout “beams” with zero recoil.

Warzone 2’s delayed Season 2 update is set to arrive on February 15, but the game’s meta has been the same since the battle royale’s November 16 launch. The RPK and Fennec continue to be the most popular picks, but that doesn’t mean other weapons aren’t worth a try.

There isn’t any SMG in Warzone 2 that isn’t worth using, and the MX9 has long been considered an underused choice. Despite having only a 0.2% pick rate according to WZRanked, players who use the MX9 have found it to be an extremely reliable SMG because of its low recoil that makes it easy to achieve those fast TTKs.

FaZe streamer Ean ‘Booya’ Chase is known for experimenting with off-meta weapons, and his new MX9 loadout “beams” thanks to its almost non-existent recoil.

FaZe Booya Warzone 2 MX9 loadout

  • Muzzle: Forge DX90-F
  • Barrel: 16.5″ STB Factory
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mw
  • Stock: Bruen STB 556 Stock
  • Magazine: 32 Round Mag

Booya builds Warzone 2’s MX9 for aim walking steadiness and speed, as mobility is key when building an SMG loadout, and range isn’t a huge concern.

The Forge DX90-F Muzzle and 16.5″ STB Factory Barrel combined will improve the MX9’s damage range and accuracy, and he recommends tuning the Barrel towards aim walking speed and ADS speed while ensuring the Muzzle is maxed out on recoil smoothness and bullet velocity.

This allows the MX9 SMG to “beam” in Warzone 2, which is an important stat if you prefer accuracy to raw power.

The MX9’s only “downfall” is that its largest magazine size is only 32 rounds, but he said that it’s a good weapon for Solo and Duo modes.

If you’re looking for a weapon to pair the MX9 with, then you can’t go wrong with the RPK, RAAL MG, or TAQ-V.
