EA FC Mobile community split over Vini Jr as cover star

The development team of EA FC Mobile have taken charge of a substantial load of announcements regarding all the new features for the upcoming mobile game.
The reveal included the eagerly awaited official release date, new details about the limited beta, and of course, the announcement of Vini Jr as the cover star of EA FC Mobile.
This latest announcement quickly divided opinions within the EA FC Mobile community. On one hand, there are those who support the choice of Vini Jr who say that this is well-deserved for the Brazilian player, but on the other hand, one group believes another major star should have graced the cover.
EA FC Mobile cover divides community
Thousands of fans voiced their opinions after EA Sports revealed that Vini Jr is the cover star of EA FC Mobile. Two large groups quickly formed within the community. On one side, you had those who celebrated seeing the Brazilian and Real Madrid star on the EA FC Mobile cover.
Some stated that Vini “deserved it” and pointed out that the Brazilian is better than Erling Haaland, in reference to the Norwegian being the cover star of EA FC 24. These comments didn’t sit well with the other group who argued that “it should be Haaland” on the EA FC Mobile cover.
This led to a complete disagreement among fans based on EA Sports’ choice, with some even pointing out that this is “another reason to stop playing” EA FC Mobile.
Most people expected Haaland, who is on the cover of EA FC 24, to also be on the mobile version’s cover. It wouldn’t have been unusual at all, considering examples from previous editions where Kylian Mbappe was the recent face of the franchise, both in the main game and in the mobile edition of FIFA.
That said, and also taking into account the number of championships and outstanding individual performances Haaland had with Manchester City last season, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and the prestigious UEFA Champions League, the choice of Vini Jr may have taken a couple of players by surprise.
