Diablo 4 players are furious with the Season 3 endgame boss fight as they claim it to have “poor game design” due to the rewards.

Diablo 4 Season 3 is in full swing as the devs have introduced several new mechanics like the Vaults and Seneschal Companions with this update. Although the season did not receive the reception the devs wanted, it seems like the frequency of complaints has slowed down a bit since then.

However, a large portion of the player base is still unhappy with several aspects of Season 3 and the community has been quite active in pointing out the issues in it. Most of them are unhappy with the Uber Malphas boss fight due to its rewards.

Reddit user ‘Zedzd3ad’ posted about this in the Diablo 4 subreddit as they claimed that players “can get a duplicate unique stone from Malphas, and it has absolutely 0 value.” Additionally, the OP even called it “poor game design” and wanted no part of it in their playthrough.

Uber Malphas is the new endgame boss added in Season 3 alongside the previous others from last season and involves a fair bit of grinding to be summoned. Similar to the other endgame enemies, Uber Malphas is also regarded as a difficult fight in Diablo 4.

However, one of the prime reasons behind farming this enemy is getting Unique Tuning Stones for the Seneschal Construct, and players are unhappy as they are getting duplicates after all the grinding. “I just don’t see how it’s suitable game design” argued one player.

Some even called this mechanic a “joke” as others felt that the devs were “really trying” to keep them in the game for the entire duration of Season 3. One player suggested that a duplicate Unique Tuning Stone should turn into a Resplendent Spark that could be used for crafting later.

Even though most players find farming Uber Malphas a “waste of time,” Blizzard have yet to address this issue explicitly. However, many expect in the community that a big patch is coming as a lot of complaints have piled up, so players might expect some solution regarding this issue.
