Diablo 4 players fed up with Poison being “5000% deadlier” than anything else

Of all the different elemental damages in Diablo 4, players feel that poison does the most amount of damage. This issue was present in the previous seasons too, and players are surprised that it hasn’t been addressed in Season 3 either.

In Diablo 4, you will come across different types of elemental damage. While they aren’t that lethal in World Tier 1 and World Tier 2, their lethality increases in World Tier 3 and World Tier 4 respectively.

In the last two World Tiers, you also have a -25% and -50% resistance to elemental damage, forcing you to consider the damage resistance while making your builds. However, as players have pointed out, in Diablo 4, poison damage seems more lethal than the other damage types.

As mentioned by ‘SaxoG’ on Reddit, even with max poison resistance Dungeons that had spiders or other poison enemies are wildly out of proportion than other Dungeons.

Others responded and said that the game was bugged and the developers did not know how to fix these bugs. Player ‘Danoneiro’ said, “As far as I remember D2 and D3 had same problems, but it was lightning damage.”

Another player replied, “The funny part is that it only applies to us. Mobs have proper resistance to DoT effects.” ‘Thekmanpwnudwn’ said, “And it’s been like this for 2 seasons now, so they clearly don’t think something is wrong”

Although players feel it’s mostly a bug, a few players said that poison damage in Diablo 4 is lethal because DoT (damage-over-time) effects stack. Redditor “a_smizzy” commented, ” DOT effects are stackable, and poison enemies are usually plentiful and leave many pools.”

Others also argued that Blizzard handle DoT differently than they handled direct damage. In this regard, a player said, “Somehow in a game where mechanics are so based on keywords that they are highlighted and labelled in the skill tree, they have managed to totally mess up how various mechanics influence and are influenced by those keywords.”

Diablo 4 Season 3 has seen players talk about a lot of issues. It will be interesting to see how the developers choose to address these issues in the coming weeks.
