Diablo 4 players call out “pointless” loot in Midwinter Blight event

The Midwinter Blight holiday event is live in Diablo 4 but players have slammed the loot on offer, calling the rewards “forgettable” at best.

Diablo 4 Season 2 brings yet another event as Midwinter Blight went live on December 12, 2023. Although it is a minor holiday event, players can farm for a boatload of loot by participating in it, aside from the ongoing Abattoir of Zir.

However, many players are not fond of the loot that they get by trading Blighted Fragments in Midwinter Blight. Players have openly let the devs know of their dissatisfaction online as most of them are not content with what the event has to offer.

Reddit user ‘TheLdoubleE’ posted about this issue, calling the loot from Midwinter Spoils “forgettable” and asked others to “save” their fragments. Players can collect Blighted Fragments by defeating the Blightfiends, and trade them off to get the Midwinter Spoils bag.

Although the spoils bag drops certain Legendary or Unique gear, the OP did not feel that all the endgame grinding was worth it as it gave them “600-800ish loot” in Diablo 4. Most other players agreed with the OP as they felt the other loot bags in the game were “useless.”

With most endgame Unique items being well above 800 in terms of Item Power, many felt that the loot was underwhelming in Midwinter Blight. Plus, with Season 2 endgame Uber bosses providing Ancestral Uniques with 925 Item Power, the current event loot was not something the players expected.

Since most of the rewards in Midwinter Blight are cosmetic rewards, players appeared to want some better loot in Diablo 4. “Whoever is in charge of rewards clearly doesn’t play the game,” said one agitated Diablo 4 player.

Others felt that Midwinter Blight was “just a reskinned Helltide” due to its “super short story” and constant flow of monsters. Many others felt that the event was “boring” and the grind for loot was “extremely pointless” in this event.

Blizzard are yet to address this issue, but players would definitely like to see a patch to fix the loot in Midwinter Blight. However, as this is a limited-time event, it is unlikely that the devs will change things now that it’s live.
