Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC brings a brand-new story alongside new mechanics, weapons, and a new area in Night City. But will there be any more Cyberpunk 2077 DLC after Phantom Liberty? Here’s everything we know.

It’s no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 had a troubled launch with its performance issues on consoles and game-breaking glitches. Things improved as the patches rolled out, and Update 2.0 has been the most game-changing yet.

With almost every aspect of the game seeing change, Update 2.0 gets Cyberpunk 2077 ready for the highly anticipated Phantom Liberty DLC which introduces Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed, the new Dogtown area, and plenty more.

The Witcher 3’s two DLC expansions were both highly praised so will CD Projekt Red bring any more DLC to Cyberpunk 2077 after Phantom Liberty? Here’s what the developers had to say.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will be the game’s only DLC, with CD Projekt Red confirming there will be no more expansions coming.

After confirming it’d be the first and only DLC shortly after its announcement back in September 2022, CD Projekt Red’s SVP of business development Michał Nowakowski explained the decision during an August 2023 earnings call.

When asked how many Phantom Liberty sales could change their minds, he said: “The decision has actually been made.”

“As we have announced a long time ago, we’re not going to make a second or third expansion,” he continued. “This is the only expansion of the game, and it has nothing to do with the numbers and how satisfied or not we are with sales or anything of the kind.

“It’s a technological decision, to be honest. This is the last time we’re working on the Red Engine for the time being at least, and in the foreseeable future as you know we are working on the Unreal Engine from Epic. This was one of the key reasons why we decided this was the only one.”

So, even with Phantom Liberty’s glowing early reviews, there’s no hope of another Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. But, CD Projekt Red are working on the next Witcher game so there’s plenty to look forward to.
