Warzone’s MW3 update brings back overpowered Perk from Caldera

Following Modern Warfare 3’s launch, Warzone gets brand-new content including the new Urzikstan map, weapons, Perks, and more. Among these new Perks is the return of one of Warzone’s most controversial.

Warzone has had a few overpowered Perks over its time, offering major advantages to players who chose them. The Birdseye Perk was causing a stir shortly after Warzone 2’s launch as it allowed players to see enemy positions and the direction they were facing whenever any UAV was popped, but it was eventually removed from the mode.

Warzone Caldera had a couple of problematic Perks as well, with Serpentine and Combat Scout being regarded as the biggest offenders. Serpentine increased player health when sprinting, making it extremely difficult to kill a moving target, and Combat Scout essentially offered wallhacks by pinging the enemy and highlighting them through walls.

Warzone players were glad to see that Combat Scout wouldn’t carry over to Warzone 2 and Al Mazrah, but that’s changing after Modern Warfare 3’s launch. The Call of Duty Next event officially revealed gameplay on the new Warzone map, and the devs confirmed Combat Scout’s return.

Whether it’s as powerful as it was in Caldera remains to be seen. If it still has the same wallhack ability as before, expect it to quickly become one of the most powerful choices once again.

We’ll need to wait and see how powerful Combat Scout ends up being on the new Urzikstan map though, and it will have competition with the new Perks. Shrouded, Irradiated, and Resolute arrive with the same update, letting players drop smoke grenades, survive the gas easier, and move faster when shot.

While you won’t get to play the new Warzone experience until Modern Warfare 3 Season 1, you’ll be able to play the map early with the Zombies mode.
