Warzone expert explains why TAQ Evolvere “isn’t worth using”

With each Warzone update a new weapon becomes the meta option that most players tend to run. However, CoD stats expert TrueGameData has urged players to avoid the game’s most popular gun, the TAQ Evolvere, following a major nerf.

The Warzone meta is shifting all the time, as each new update introduces a host of buffs and nerfs that drastically alter the rankings. This was the case in the February 13 patch, which brought a number of changes that saw the TAQ Evolvere dominate Urizkstan.

Spotting how powerful the LMG had become, the devs quickly nerfed it on February 16. However, it has still remained the most popular weapon in the entire game, appearing in the vast majority of loadouts despite the nerf.

But, while the changes have done little to harm the TAQ Evolvere’s popularity, Warzone expert TrueGameData has advised players to steer clear of it.

In his February 19 video, the CoD stats guru got into the LMG’s numbers since the nerf and broke down just how much of an effect it had on its performance, urging fans to “take this off your loadouts” going forward.

After its initial buff, the Evolvere was capable of killing extremely quickly at close range in Warzone, especially when using Tac Stance. Now, following the February 16 update, its TTK has dropped from 630 to 750ms in its first damage range, which has also been lowered from 40 to around 36 meters.

It was just the close-range TTK that got “destroyed,” however, as the damage value for neck, chest, and leg shots at long-range were lowered by three, it’s significantly less effective at a distance too.

The 556 ammunition that unlocked the TAQ Evolvere’s “insane” TTK in Tac Stance was also heavily nerfed, reducing its damage across the board. With all this in mind, TrueGameDate felt that the LMG “isn’t really worth using” at any range in Warzone, as there are plenty of options that can outgun it.

At the time of writing, the TAQ Evolvere has the highest pick rate of any gun in Warzone. But, once the community hears TGD’s advice, we’ll have to wait and see if other meta options like the SVA 545 or BP50 replace it.
