Despite the recent arrival of Season 5 Reloaded, new leaks point to the upcoming return of the popular Halloween event for Warzone 2 in 2023. Here’s all the information you need to know, including the expected release date, Operator leaks, map changes, and more.

Since its debut during the game’s first iteration in 2020, Warzone’s Halloween event has become a thrilling experience for players. After its absence last year, players are eagerly anticipating what this year’s event will entail.

The Halloween Warzone event usually brings a wealth of thematic spooky content to the game, featuring exciting collaborations with iconic characters. Additionally, it introduces game modes with innovative features that differ significantly from the typical modes in this free-to-play title.

Following the release of Season 5 Reloaded in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, leakers’ group Task Force Leakers shared some details found in the game files for the allegedly 2023 version of the Halloween event.

Among the leaks, several additions to Warzone and even MW2’s multiplayer were discovered, along with possible collaborations with various well-known characters, new thematic content, and more.

Warzone 2 Halloween 2023 event expected release date

Although this hasn’t been confirmed yet, Warzone 2’s Halloween 2023 event could arrive during Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s Season 6, which is set to arrive in late September.

This would follow previous event iterations’ schedule, which began during the last quarter of the year to coincide with both Halloween’s celebration date, as well as the release of the next Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 3.

Warzone 2 Halloween 2023 event potential Operator collaborations

Following the Season 5 Reloaded update, leakers also found several mentions of popular characters hinting at potential collaborations as we have had in previous versions of the Halloween event, further expanding the MW2 and Warzone Operator roster.

Here’s every Season 6 leaked Operator so far:

  • Skeletor (Masters of the Universe)
  • Spawn (Image Universe)
  • Ash Williams (Evil Dead)
  • Alucard (Hellsing)

Other references found indicate some of Activision’s own Diablo characters Lilith and Bitcher could also be featured in the event, alongside The Conjuring’s Valak Mommy.

Additionally, multiple cosmetic Halloween bundles were also leaked following the latest update, giving players a first look at what’s to come with the spooky theme in the game.

Warzone 2 Halloween 2023 map changes and Zombies inclusion

Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah is set for some changes with the potential makeover of its train into a “Hell Train,” to probably be in line with Halloween’s spooky theme. This could introduce new obstacles and challenges for players to explore.

Furthermore, both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 will allegedly feature Zombies in both Battle Royale and multiplayer. At the moment, it’s unknown if it will be in all the playlists or just in a specific playlist mode that won’t necessarily interfere with the game.
