Underrated Warzone rifle outguns MCW to become new “best AR”
ActivisionAssault Rifles are always a popular choice in the Warzone meta and CoD expert FaZe Swagg has revealed which gun in the category is the new standout after catching a buff in Season 1 Reloaded.
The Warzone Season 1 Reloaded update threw two brand-new weapons into the mix, drastically altering the meta. It also introduced a host of buffs and nerfs to the existing lineup of guns, propelling options like the AMR9 into contention for the first time.
One of the categories that received plenty of attention was Assault Rifles, which are always popular choices among fans. Since the patch went live, players have flocked to the MCW, which is finally a top-tier rifle for the first time.
However, Warzone expert FaZe Swagg has revealed another Assault Rifle that players shouldn’t be sleeping on, as he thinks it’s even better than the MCW.
In his January 23 video, Swagg explained why the Holger 556 is the new “best AR” in the game after being buffed in the midseason update. It received a damage increase across the board, which he felt placed above the competition.
The YouTuber went on to say that the Holger “kills super quick” and has “low recoil,” helping it beat the MCW to take the crown. Check out Swagg’s best Holger 556 loadout in Warzone below.

- Barrel: Chrios-6 Math
- Muzzle: VT-7 Spitfire Suppressor
- Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
- Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5x
- Magazine: 40 Round Mag
Swagg kicked off his best Holger 556 loadout in Warzone with the Chrios-6 Math and VT-7 Spitfire Suppressor, which keep the AR’s shots off the minimap while also buffing the bullet velocity and damage range.
Then, he went for the Bruen Heavy Support Grip to reduce the gun kick and keep it on target. When it comes to the Optic, he picked the Corio Eagleseye 2.5x for additional zoom without sacrificing too much mobility.
Finally, the 40 Round Mag allows players to take out multiple enemies before having to take a break and reload.
Only time will tell if the Holger 556 displaces the MCW as the most popular Assault Rifle in Warzone, but Swagg clearly feels it has it was it takes to dominate matches as we head into Season 2.
