Snoop Dogg returns to Warzone & MW3 and it’s dividing the community

The Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 is bringing rapper Snoop Dogg back to the games as an Operator, but not all players are happy to see him again.

The devs have started peeling back the curtain on MW3 and Warzone Season 3, and players quickly spotted a familiar face in the update’s artwork. Iconic rapper Snoop Dogg could be seen at the end of the first official trailer, revealing that the 17-time Grammy nominee will have a skin in the new season.

This is hardly the first time he’s appeared in the CoD series, as he’s also had an Operator in Vanguard, Modern Warfare 2, and CoD Mobile. In fact, if you count his voiceover work in CoD Ghosts, MW3 and Warzone will mark Snoop’s fifth and sixth appearance in the franchise.

It isn’t clear how exactly players will be able to unlock the Snoop Dogg skin in Season 3. It’s likely that he will arrive as part of a bundle in the store, as was the case in the past, but he could also feature in the new Battle Pass like Rick Grimes from Season 2.

Although Snoop Dogg and Call of Duty go hand-in-hand at this point, the announcement did leave MW3 and Warzone players divided. Some were pleased to see the legendary rapper return, especially since Season 3 is leaning so hard into bringing back old favorites.

“I left og Rebirth as Snoop, I’ll hopefully be able to return to Rebirth as soon,” said one reply to CharlieIntel’s tweet, before another added: “I mean it would be a crime not to include him at this point. Dude has been a fixture in Call of Duty for years now.”

Meanwhile, others wanted the devs to mix things up instead of rehashing the same collaborations in every game, especially since many players will have already bought a version of him in the past.

“Boring. No disrespect to Snoop but bruh you’ve been in enough CoDs bro, time to add other celebrities,” argued one reply, while another agreed: “I already bought him in Warzone 1 just for it to be taken away from me, I ain’t buying him twice.”

Snoop Dogg makes his return in Warzone and MW3 Season 3, which arrives on April 3 and also brings back Rebirth Island and the popular MORS Sniper Rifle from Advanced Warfare.
