MW3 players slam “embarrassing” Horde Hunt event reward

MW3 added a new zombie-themed event in Season 2 packed with many rewards. One particular reward, however, isn’t impressing players at all, with many calling it “embarrassing.”

MW3 and Warzone Season 2 added all the staples that you’d expect from the shooter—new maps, guns, Battle Pass, and much more. It also brought a brand-new zombie event, Horde Hunt, which is largely similar to past zombie-themed events.

In a traditional CoD style, all you’ll do is kill zombies and collect whatever they drop such as bones. Once you’ve collected enough, you’ll receive a reward ranging from skins, guns, calling cards, and all the usual.

One of the weekly challenges has players kill Mimics, a disgusting-looking zombie with massive tentacle arms, and collect 200 of its skulls. But the reward at the end is a “letdown” for players, as it is just a skin for a Field Upgrade and nothing else.

Reddit user, Longbow92, made a post on the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, comparing the week three reward Cursed Ammo to the regular Munitions Box. Given how the reward was titled “ammo,” many thought it’d be unique ammo with some cool animations for MW3 Zombies but were disappointed when it turned out to be a static skin.

As a user wrote, “I thought it would be an ammo effect, like purple ink on your bullets from the zombifying liquid. What an incredible fail.” Many expressed how disappointed they were, “What?! It is a damn skin. I thought it was a new special weapon… letdown.” Another user wrote, “Couldn’t even fu**ing change the top. Embarrassing.”

Others more or less said they were misled by the name: “It’s even called ‘cursed ammo’ and not ‘cursed ammo box,’ useless for zombie mode,” and that it was a “lazy” reward with nothing unique.

Cursed Ammo is the reward for the featured week 3 challenge, and the major reward for all the weekly challenges is the “Killshot” Swagger Operator Skin.
