MW3 saw plenty of changes across the board with the Season 2 Reloaded patch, but it also buffed one underrated Tactical Equipment in the game. The buff could bring it back to the top and make it more useful.

Season 2 Reloaded of MW3 and Warzone is now here, adding plenty of new content to both games. While most of these changes were already highlighted in the patch notes, Sledgehammer Games didn’t mention one major change to a Tactical Equipment.

The equipment in question is Stims. It was one of the most sought-after Tactical Equipment in the past few entries, to the point that they could net you battle royale wins almost on their own. In MW3, however, it wasn’t nearly as OP.

On March 8, SHG confirmed that Stims have received a buff and that they’ve updated the patch notes to reflect it.

Previously, you could only ever use a Stim once per life, but now it has a cooldown of 25 seconds, which means you can use it multiple times as long as you survive in MW3.

Stims were introduced first in Black Ops 4 and were insanely popular back then, and again in MW 2019 as well. Not only did Stims heal and refresh Tactical Sprint, but they also provided speed boosts, which was particularly useful in the first Warzone. Meanwhile, during Black Ops Cold War, Stims had a cooldown of around 11s.

MW3 does retain those, but it could only ever be used once and it didn’t provide as much boost, so most players preferred other Tactical Equipment like Stun and Smoke Grenade.

The change has already been met with good reception, as many players praised SHG under their announcement post on X (formerly Twitter). A player wrote, “OH MY GOODDDDD YES,” another user said, “OH THIS A W.”
