Man charged with felony after stealing copies of Call of Duty: WWII from Sony factory in Indiana

A man was charged with misdemeanor theft and felony for an “offense against intellectual property” after stealing copies of Call of Duty: WWII from a Sony DADC factory in Terre Haute, Indiana.

In this Sony DADC factory, the company manufactures DVDs, Blu-Ray discs, and other CD-based products.

The individual stole the copies of Call of Duty: WWII from the factory in early October and attempted to sell them on Ebay for $45 each.

Sony says the individual does not work for their company and is not clear how he was able to steal the copies. Police began their investigation on Friday, and caught up with the individual during a traffic stop. He now faces a theft charge, alongside a felony offense.

Local news channel WTHITV states that copies of both Call of Duty: WWII and Madden 18 were stolen from the factory in early October.
