Wondering how strong the Warzone 2 Cronen Squall and RPK nerfs were in the September 6 update? Here’s the breakdown from stats expert JGOD.

Warzone 2 received a new update on September 6, which not only aimed to bring bug fixes to Season 5 Reloaded but also some balanced changes after the mid-season update shifted the meta with buffs and nerfs, as well as new weapons.

The September 6 update ultimately brought changes to the RPK and Cronen Squall, which are popular choices for the battle royale. The RPK was out of favor for a while but recently came back into the limelight, while the Cronen has been a strong pick for quite some time.

The update nerfed these weapons, so if you enjoyed using them, you may want to know how strong these nerfs for the Cronen and RPK were.

Thankfully, JGOD has weighed in on the subject, checking out the stats for both weapons after the changes and letting players know how the nerfs have affected the weapons.

According to JGOD, the Cronen Squall should still be a strong pick, as he states the nerfs are changes that may not be noticed, as at range, it still does the same damage, which is what players use the weapon for.

As for the RPK, this LMG received both some buffs and nerfs, changing its TTK and damage profile. This changed its TTK from 1000 to 1100, as “now you need a headshot to get the fastest TTK.”

JGOD feels that the nerfs have brought the RPK “in line” with the Lachmann 762, so while it may not feel as strong after the September 6 update, it can still compete.

All in all, if you’re a fan of these weapons, the changes aren’t detrimental, so you’re likely still going to enjoy using them. However, if you like using the most meta weapons, maybe check out our pieces on the best Assault Rifles and LMGs in the battle royale.
