YouTuber discovers surprising pick for Warzone’s best SMG
Popular Warzone player IceManIsaac has been trying out different weapon combinations and has stumbled across a surprising SMG that “is going to slap.”
Ever since the likes of the DMR, MAC-10, and Diamattis were nerfed, it seems that Warzone’s balance has been restored. Whilst there are a few weapons that could be contenders for the king of the CoD meta, we’d argue that there isn’t one particular go-to gun that will be guaranteed to tear up every lobby.
You will frequently see people running the classic Kilo 141, the Bullfrog, and even the Bruen. It now seems that IceManIsaac has inadvertently found a new, winning combination thanks to a Twitch challenge.
One of IceManIsaac’s followers tasked the Warzone player with “building an AR that was like an SMG and an SMG that was like an AR.” Now, the SMG to AR part of the experiment didn’t pop off as he hoped, but on the other hand, the AR to SMG loadout proved to be more fruitful.
The gun in question is the Modern Warfare AK-47 and in Isaac’s words: “no clickbait – this thing absolutely destroys.” The AK-47 has become a mainstay in the Call of Duty franchise due to its incredible firepower, though its drop-off in accuracy and firing speed has always hindered it.
Isaac thinks the potential of the AK-47 as a regular selection is foreseeable, describing it as “a very viable weapon to run in solos, in duos.”
IceManIsaac AK-47 Warzone class
At the end of the video, Isaac talked his viewers through the setup he had for his AK-47 and what attachments it had on it.
Here’s IceManIsaac’s AK-47 loadout:
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 8.1 Compact Barrel
- Laser: 5mW Laser
- Stock: No Stock
- Ammunition: 5.45x39mm 30-Round Mags
To try and further solidify the AK-47 as a usable gun, Isaac then compared his custom AK-47 setup to the meta MAC-10 setup. The results were quite shocking; in all the crucial stats and scenarios, the AK-47 performed better.
Has the AK-47 been hiding under everyone’s noses for the longest time? The evidence would certainly appear so, and it will be fascinating to see if it begins to appear more frequently in Warzone lobbies.
