Warzone 2 players have expressed their disappointment with being unable to grind certain reticles in the battle royale, as some are exclusive to bundles.

Warzone 2 Season 2 is in full swing and players have been busy exploring the brand-new Ashika Island Resurgence map. While the Season 2 update also brought new challenges like Path of the Ronin to grind, some players aren’t satisfied.

One aspect of the game that Warzone 2 players are not able to grind is unlocking certain reticles. It turns out, some reticles with unique colors are only available in Warzone 2 bundles.

Warzone 2 players have taken to Reddit to express their disappointment with not being able to grind reticles that are locked behind a paywall.

Warzone 2 players beg for classic reticle challenges

Warzone enthusiasts have fond memories of grinding for the meta blue dot reticle in the original iteration of the battle royale. As one player put it, grinding reticles is “one of the reasons MW2019 is way better.”

They weren’t alone in comparing Warzone 2 to Modern Warfare and the original Warzone: “Same here. Loved grinding in MW2019. MW2022 just feels like it has zero soul and none of the fun from 2019.”

It seems players can’t help but feel like Warzone 2 is a “big step backward” when it comes to grinding challenges and reaching that feeling of accomplishment.

However, one player pointed out that the reticle in the post above isn’t a universal reticle that can be used on any weapon, which diminishes its value: “I don’t think it’s a transferable reticle to any optic, it just works with that AimOp sight (though you can put the AimOp on any weapon).”

This realization did little to sway players who still felt that the lack of discovering and grinding new reticles in Warzone 2 is a feature that’s sorely missing from the original, “selling them from the store, whilst simultaneously removing the option to grind for reticles like blue dot is lame af.”
