FaZe’s Ean ‘Booya’ Chase has revealed a dominant VEL 46 loadout for Warzone 2 that makes the SMG just as powerful as the classic MP7 in the original battle royale.

The Fennec 45 has dominated Warzone 2 as the best SMG option in the game since the start of Season 1. While there’s no denying that the Fennec 45 is powerful up close, some players prefer to use an SMG with superior damage range.

This is where the VEL 46 shines as a new and improved version of the classic MP7. The MP7 SMG was always known for its excellent range and the VEL 46 brings similar qualities to Al Mazrah.

The weapon is overlooked at the moment with its pick rate of 3.26% firmly behind the Fennec 45 and Lachmann Sub. Weapon buffs and nerfs are set to arrive with the Season 1 Reloaded update, and the VEL 46 is in a great spot to rise up the ranks.

Nonetheless, FaZe Booya proved that the versatile SMG is currently viable and his VEL 46 loadout is reminiscent of the MP7’s time at the top of the Verdansk meta in Season 1 of Warzone.

FaZe Booya’s Warzone 2 VEL 46 MP7 loadout

  • Barrel: Tango 228 Barrel
  • Muzzle: Forge DX90-F
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mw
  • Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Soldier Grip

Speaking of the VEL-46’s strengths, Booya claims “It’s got pretty good damage and it’s got good range on it.” Given that the VEL-46 excels at close-range and medium-range, Booya opted for a mix of attachments that improve recoil control and mobility.

Both the Schlager Soldier Grip and VLK LZR 7mw will increase the VEL’s aim down sight speed. The weapon’s best-in-class range doesn’t mean that it can’t perform well up close. With the aforementioned attachments, you’ll have no problem getting your shots off first.

The Forge DX90-F Muzzle and Phase-3 Grip offer enough recoil stabilization for players of all skill levels to make their shots count when targeting players outside of the traditional SMG range.

While the Tango 228 Barrel doesn’t impact recoil control it does further boost the VEL’s range and bullet velocity, perfectly balancing the weapon.
