Warzone 2 players looking to unlock Season 1’s M13B Assault Rifle must defeat the Chemist in the DMZ mode, but the November 22 update has made unlocking the weapon even more difficult.

Warzone 2 Season 1 arrived with two new weapons that could be unlocked for free in the Battle Pass, the Victus XMR and BAS-P. It also brought a fan-favorite weapon, the M13B, but getting your hands on it is much more difficult.

To unlock the M13B, players must head to the extraction-based DMZ mode and eliminate the Chemist, a tough AI boss. He’s found inside a Radiation Zone that will slowly deal damage, so you need to beat him quickly to have any chance of escaping.

However, the devs dropped an update on November 22 that failed to mention that unlocking the M13B in Warzone 2 is now even more difficult.

A reliable way to easily defeat the Chemist and get out with the M13B was driving a vehicle into the Radiation Zone, running over the Chemist, and making a quick getaway. However, as spotted by leaker TheGhostofHope and many others, the Radiation Zone now has a DDOS effect.

This means that any vehicle you drive into the Radiation Zone will immediately stall, meaning you can’t use it to drive up to the Chemist for an easy kill. Now, you’ll have to complete the challenge the traditional way, gathering Gas Masks and the best guns possible to quickly eliminate the boss and make your escape.

But, you don’t necessarily have to kill the Chemist to unlock the M13B. As long as you extract from DMZ with it in your inventory, you’ll be able to keep the Assault Rifle for good. So, search through other players’ inventory or get your friends to drop one for you.
