Modern Warfare 2 pro reveals top-tier Ranked Play Assault Rifle loadout after “insane buffs”
ActivisionThe Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded update buffed the Lachmann-556 Assault Rifle, and one CDL pro believes his loadout for the weapon has what it takes to compete with the TAQ-56 in Ranked Play.
Modern Warfare 2 players continue to flock to the successful Ranked Play mode in Season 3 Reloaded in an attempt to secure their rewards before Season 4 rolls around.
In terms of the Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play meta, the Vaznev-9k and TAQ-56 continue to dominate in Season 3 Reloaded. However, the Season 3 Reloaded update brought several buffs and nerfs that saw certain weapons gain renewed viability alongside the top two options.
CDL pro player for the LA Thieves, Sam ‘Octane’ Larew, revealed that the Lachmann-556 Assault Rifle was the big winner of the udpate, receiving “insane buffs” to its close, mid, and long-range damage.
After praising the Lachman-556’s clean iron sight, Octane goes on to say: “Overall I think that the buff is extremely noticeable.”

- Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
- Stock: Lachmann S9 Factory

To create the best Lachmann-556 loadout for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, Octane opts for a balanced selection of attachments that focus on improving ADS speed, recoil control, and movement speed.
For starters the 19.5″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel increases recoil control, but it also improves the AR’s damage range and bullet velocity. Meanwhile, the 5.56 High Velocity ammunition also provides a boost to bullet velocity.
Next, the FSS Sharkfin 90 will steady your shots and make sure you’re landing your bullets on target in high-pressure situations. The remaining attachments in the LMK64 Grip and Lachmann S9 Factory will boost the weapon’s sprint-to-fire speed, ADS speed, and overall sprint speed, making the AR quick and snappy.
