Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone players can relive their childhood memories with the new Hans Zimmer Audio Pack, bringing back classic sounds from MW2. However, fans have called out the “blatant greed” of charging around £15 dollars for the bundle.

The Call of Duty series has been doubling down on nostalgia in recent weeks, following the announcement of Modern Warfare 3. The new game is set to launch with 16 classic maps from MW2 (2009), and will bring back a host of fan-favorite features.

Players have also been treated to a number of old-school bundles in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Warzone 2, including the original weapon sounds in the Throwback Audio bundle.

Now, the devs have brought back Hanz Zimmers’ original score, but fans are less than happy with how much they’re being asked to pay for the iconic music.

The Hans Zimmer: Modern Warfare 2 2009 Audio Pack is available from the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 store for 1,400 CoD Points, the equivalent of around $15. It replaces the current menu music with a remastered version of the legendary composer’s original work from 14 years ago.

While fans were originally excited to hear that Zimmer’s beloved theme would be returning, the price proved to be a sticking point for many players.

Responding to a CharlieIntel post, one fan said: “This is worth maybe 500 cod points, not 1400. The blatant greed, because they know people are gonna buy it anyway.”

Meanwhile, others pointed out that “Cold War did these for free,” and called out Activision for charging money for something that was previously released at no extra cost.

“Activision reselling 2009 audio, it doesn’t get any lower than that,” argued one player, while another added: “This is so shameless lmao.”

Some even urged their fellow fans not to purchase the bundle, suggesting they “just play a YouTube video with the music while you play FOR FREE.”

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that the Hans Zimmer: Modern Warfare 2 2009 Audio Pack does carry over into Modern Warfare 3 when it launches on November 10. This means fans can enjoy the classic music when navigating the multiplayer, campaign, or Zombies menus.
