Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal date reportedly leaked
Call of Duty players are desperate to know when they can get a glimpse of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer gameplay, and known insider Tom Henderson claims to have shed light on the reveal date.
Modern Warfare 2 was officially revealed back in June, with the campaign trailer introducing us to the characters and the gameplay reveal showing us the campaign. But it’s multiplayer that players really want to see.
Modern Warfare 2’s October 28 release date draws ever nearer, and while Warzone Mobile‘s files have reportedly revealed more about the DMZ mode, the weapons, and maps, when CoD fans can actually see multiplayer gameplay remains a mystery.
Industry insider Tom Henderson has leaked a ton of information around Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 and now claims to have revealed when we can finally get a glimpse at multiplayer.
Modern Warfare 2 reveal date reportedly leaked
According to Henderson, his sources have “implied that the mode is set to be revealed at the beginning of September,” ahead of the multiplayer beta.
Writing in Try Hard Guides, he said that “it’s not entirely clear when or how the multiplayer mode will be revealed,” but expects there to be developer interviews with Infinity Ward.
As Henderson points out, this would line up nicely with previous years’ dates, with Cold War’s multiplayer revealed on September 9 and Vanguard’s on September 7.
Adding to these leaks, he claims that the beta will arrive in mid-late September. While Activision haven’t revealed the beta dates themselves, this would line up with another leaker, RalphsValve’s, claim that the beta will kick off on September 15.
Henderson also confirmed that he has not heard anything about an alpha, so it’s becoming increasingly likely that there won’t be one.
However, take all of these leaks with a pinch of salt. Nothing is confirmed, and until Activision or Infinity Ward reveals an exact date, it’s very much up in the air.
