New Modern Warfare 2 game modes are already in the pipeline according to a popular CoD leaker and many fan-favorite ones such as Gun Game are allegedly set to return.

Throughout its lifetime Call of Duty multiplayer has presented players with many exciting and varied playlist options to jump into – and Modern Warfare 2 will carry on this tradition.

Whereas Deathmatch game modes are undisputed classics that have been around the online multiplayer scene for years, developers have come up with inventive ways to make FPS gameplay feel fresh.

Thanks to one leaker, it appears as if Modern Warfare 2 is bringing back many classic playlist options.

Infinity Ward’s newest CoD title has already presented players with Prisoner Rescue and Knock Out as new modes, in addition to a ton of returning 6v6 modes and Ground War/Invasion.

With Warzone 2 and its DMZ mode on the way, TheGhostOfHope has outlined nine incoming game modes to spice up MW2.

In a recent Tweet, the leaker said that there were new game modes set to be dropped into Modern Warfare 2 and listed them all too:

  • Reinforce
  • Drop Zone
  • Gun Game
  • Infected
  • Uplink
  • Cranked
  • Cyber Attack
  • Team Defender
  • Grind

Long-time COD fans will recognize a bunch of these modes with Cyber Attack proving to be a successful newcomer in 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot and the ever-popular Gun Game making its return too.

The leaker doesn’t make it clear when any of these will be setting foot in MW2 though, so we imagine these will all be drip-fed over the course of several seasons, starting with Modern Warfare 2 Season 1.
