Raids arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with December 14’s Season 1 Reloaded update but you’ll need to meet some requirements before taking on Atomgrad. Here’s how to get a Raid Key in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty players have a ton of choice thanks to Modern Warfare 2, with the game featuring classic multiplayer, battle royale, the extraction-based DMZ mode, and Special Ops. That’s not all though, as the Season 1 Reloaded updates arrives on December 14 and brings Raids for the very first time.

Raids are part of the Spec Ops mode, tasking players with battling through AI-infested areas and completing “puzzle-solving objectives.” But you can’t just jump straight in, so here’s how to get a Raid Key in Modern Warfare 2.

How to play Raids in Modern Warfare 2: Raid Keys explained

In order to play a Raid in Modern Warfare 2, you’ll first need to get your hands on a Raid Key. Only players who have a Raid Key (or have someone in their squad with one) can play Raids, so unlocking one is vital.

A Raid Key allows a player to access Modern Warfare 2’s Raid mode for a full week, and they can bring other players in with them as well.

Modern Warfare 2 players looking to earn a Raid Key can get their hands on one by completing a challenge in multiplayer, Special Ops, Warzone 2, or DMZ.

Thanks to the Call of Duty blog, here’s how to get a Raid key in each mode:

  • Complete a specific Daily Challenge either in Multiplayer or Special Ops.
  • Place within the top 20 in any Warzone 2.0 Battle Royale Playlist.
  • In DMZ, use the final extract helicopter with at least $30,000 in Cash.

It all depends on how easy the multiplayer challenge is, but we would recommend trying to place within the top 20 in Warzone 2’s battle royale mode to unlock a Raid Key. Reaching the top 20 in Warzone 2 isn’t too difficult, especially if you avoid fights.

Using the DMZ’s final extract helicopter with at least $30,000 in Cash is much more difficult as a lot of things must go right for you to complete the challenge. But, the multiplayer challenges could be extremely easy.

Completing the very first Raid will unlock the Gaz Operator for multiplayer and Warzone 2, as well as different cosmetic items. Be sure to check out how to unlock the new Chimera Assault Rifle as well.
