SMG players sure have some excellent options to choose from, and you won’t want to ignore the Vaznev-9k as it’s one of the top weapons in MW2’s Ranked Play mode.

The Vaznev-9K is not a base weapon in Modern Warfare 2 and it will take some grinding to unlock, but once you do, you’ll have one of the game’s best weapons in the palm of your hands.

Best Modern Warfare 2 Vaznev-9K loadout attachments

• Barrel: KAS-1 381mm
• Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
• Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90

With these attachments, we’re looking to tame the weapon’s recoil, all while keeping the reduction to ADS and movement speed to a minimum. For starters, the Bruen Pendulum and FSS Sharkfin 90 will boost recoil control.

Next, we have the KAS-1 381mm barrel that will allow you to utilize the Vaznev-9K from medium-range. This long barrel will improve precision outside of its close-range sweet spot and is a great attachment to use after the Season 2 update nerfed the weapon’s range.

Unlocking the Vaznev-9K in Modern Warfare 2 is no simple task, as you’ll have to get the Kastov 74u to Level 15. Here’s how to unlock the weapon in the Kastovia Platform in simple steps:

1. Unlock Kastov 762 at level 23
2. Reach Kastov 762 Level 13 to unlock the Kastov 545
3. Reach Kastov 545 Level 13 to unlock the Kastov-74u
4. Reach Kastov-74u Level 15 to unlock the Vaznev-9K

This path will present players with quite the grind as you’ll have to work your way through three weapons before reaching the Vaznev-9K.

Best alternatives to Vaznev-9K in Modern Warfare 2

The Kastov-74u is a great alternative to the Vaznev-9K. The Assault Rifle is an excellent close-range option from the same weapon Platform so it’ll feel slightly similar.

Otherwise, you can try out the Lachmann Sub or the VEL 46, which are two SMGs that are easy to wield and still pack a punch.
