The Devil’s in the Details achievement can be difficult to get in Baldur’s Gate 3, especially if you’re playing on a higher difficulty. Thankfully, one player has shared a neat trick that makes it easier to get.

To get the Devil’s in the Details achievement in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to defeat Commander Zhalk while you are on the Nautiloid.

This is challenging mainly because, at this stage, you are still Level 1 and devoid of good gear. So, a lot of players tend to just run past him and the Mindflayer he’s fighting, because it’s easier to get off without wasting time trying to kill them (and the Cambions).

‘GamerExecChef’ shared a method to easily get rid of them. It includes using explosive tanks and cartilaginous chests creatively.

“By stacking the explosive tanks next to Zhalk, I was able to kill him and the Mindflayer in one shot and by stacking all the cartilaginous chests in the hallway, I blocked the two Cambions from joining the fight,” they shared on Reddit

The Everburn Blade can be stolen from Zhalk with Command: Drop.

Killing both Zhalk and the Mindflayer at the same time is ideal, especially considering that you only have 15 turns to kill Zhalk, get the achievement, and get out of the Nautiloid before you die.

Consequently, blocking the Cambions with the chests so they can’t reach you makes this fight a lot easier because you’ll have fewer enemies to worry about before you get the achievement and escape.

The main reason you’d want to do this is to collect Zhalk’s Everburn Blade. However, there is a way to get this even without killing him. All you need to do is use Command: Drop on him, and the weapon is yours.

The Everburn Blade is a really strong weapon to pick up in the early game, especially if you are playing a tankier character. It deals 1d4 extra fire damage on top of its base 2d6 slashing damage.

But if you want to get the achievement, you have to kill him. You can also use Command: Drop on him so his weapon drops before he can attack you. As mentioned, you only have 15 turns to get this right, so getting the Everburn Blade quickly will act in your favor.
