Baldur’s Gate 3 players want new patch to call out “idiot” character
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 players have asked for a new patch so that the devs could give them the option to call out one of the characters in the game “idiot.“
Baldur’s Gate 3 is critically acclaimed for its deep character design and intricate storyline and made its way to become the Game of the Year 2023. Even though the players absolutely love most of the characters in the title, there are some that they can’t tolerate most of the time.
One such character is Orpheus, one of the major Githyankis in BG3, as a recent discussion in the game’s subreddit proved that the character does not have many fans in the community. Rather, most of the players find him quite intolerable and went ahead to call him an “idiot.”
Reddit user ‘fizzywaters’ started this discussion as they wanted the devs to release a “new patch” just to call Orpheus a “d**ba**” in Baldur’s Gate 3. The OP was quite unhappy with the character’s reply when they freed him from his imprisonment by using the Orphic Hammer.
The OP claimed that Orpheus gave them a “dips**ttedly stupid response” when they freed him as he wanted them to surrender to the Honor Guard. “There was no f***ing way your Honor Guard was getting you out of there whether or not I intervened,” added the OP while addressing Orpheus.
For context, in Act 3, players can free Orpheus from the Astral Plane if they get the Orphic Hammer, and either turn him or someone from the party into a Mind Flayer. However, if they do not get the Orphic Hammer, The Emperor would in turn consume Orpheus’ brain, gaining his abilities.
Other players agreed with the OP as well and they sarcastically added how an Illithid’s diet of one brain a day would go unfulfilled and players “still be hungry immediately afterward” if they consumed Orpheus’ brain in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Many others confirmed that “siding with the Honor Guard” does not help as well as it would still be “game over” for Orpheus if they do not intervene with the Orphic Hammer. Some even went ahead and called Githyankis, “a bunch of f***ing a**h**es.”
