In Baldur’s Gate 3, the choices you make throughout the game can significantly affect how the game plays out. One such choice is giving Lae’zel the Githyanki Egg and here’s what happens if you do so.

Baldur’s Gate 3 and its renowned D&D gameplay style have won the hearts of many players around the world all thanks to great quests and the lasting impact they have based on the choices you make in them.

In one such quest, you are tasked with deciding the fate of the Githaynki Egg: either give it to Lady Esther, or to one of your companions, Lae’zel. As this choice can unravel in many ways, you might be wondering how the game continues next.

So here’s what happens if you give the Githaynki Egg to Lae’zel in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to begin the Githyanki Egg quest in Baldur’s Gate 3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can begin the Steal a Githyanki Egg quest by interacting with a mysterious woman named Lady Esther in the Mountain Pass. Although she askd you to get her a Githyanki Egg, it is advised that you refrain from bringing it to her as it turns out to be a negative outcome later.

Lady Esther will give you the quest involving the Githyanki Egg.

As revealed by Lady Esther, you can get the Githyanki Egg in Rosymorn Monsastry, but keep in mind that this is the only egg you can get your hands on in your entire BG3 playthrough, so make sure that you decide its outcome beforehand.

What happens if you hand over the Githyanki Egg to Lae’zel in Baldur’s Gate 3?

If you give the Githyanki Egg to Lae’zel before the final fight in Baldur’s Gate 3, she will become a mother figure to the hatchling and will nurture it. Make sure that you transfer the egg to her inventory before the final fight to get this outcome.

There is more to it than just that, if you are in a relationship with Lae’zel until the end, you will notice that she takes care of the hatchling along with you in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, if you do not decide to make her a romantic partner, she will take care of the egg herself and will name it Xan when it grows up.

No matter what the path is, she will let Xan forge his own destiny and all of this information will be revealed in the epilogue of Baldur’s Gate 3.
