Larian Studios introduced a key line in every Baldur’s Gate 3 dialogue, and players feel it should be included in every dialogue in the game. Here’s what the Baldur’s Gate 3 community has been talking about.

Baldur’s Gate 3 endings aren’t only based on what happens during fights, and most of the time the game will ask players which path they want to take through dialogue options with other NPCs. But fans feel that there’s one line that works best for roleplaying that also acknowledges companions’ backstories.

In a Reddit post called “My favorite dialogue option is ‘Let them handle this’,” players agreed that giving companions and other NPCs agency over their own stories worked better than the main character deciding over matters they wouldn’t know about.

“I want *their* personalities to drive themselves! If I pick their dialogue it defeats the whole point I’m making. Every single decision in the game should give one ‘Let XXXX handle this’ for each companion with you at the time,” pointed out Redittor ‘SharpEdgeSoda.’

Fans agreed that this dialogue option works better for a role-playing game, since their actions could also reflect the approval rate and type of relationship characters’ have with players.

Some Baldur’s Gate 3 players pointed out that the narrative felt “awkward” when they didn’t have the option to choose, especially with Astarion’s or Wyll’s storyline, where some choices majorly affect their lives.

“When it feels like if I interject I make it more about me, that’s when I’ll pick ‘let them handle it.’ One time in Cazador’s palace I picked a dialogue option instead of ‘let Astarion handle this. Cazador gave us sass, and Astarion was like ‘they don’t speak for me,’ and I was like ‘OOP, SORRY.’,” commented user ‘alinarenee.’

And that’s everything on why players feel that the option to let companions or NPCs handle their storylines works best for an RPG like Baldur’s Gate 3.
