Baldur’s Gate 3 player builds perfect character to enrage fan-favorite companion

Baldur’s Gate 3 companions have deep and intricate backstories, all of which players can discover while they travel through Faerun to find a solution for the Mind Flayer’s parasites. Their interactions often depend on how players create their main characters, and there are even special dialogues for some particular combinations.
Shadowheart is one of the most outspoken NPCs players can recruit, especially when she encounters characters that go against her faith. As a Shar Cleric who is on the run from the Githyanki, Shadowheart doesn’t mince words when it’s time to start trouble with her enemies.
On a Reddit post called “I’ve done a thing,” user ‘dragonwillow75’ created a perfect combination of everything Shadowheart passionately hates. “Shart gonna have to roll a Wisdom save to see if she takes psychic damage every time I move,” said the OP.
Shadowheart even threatens Lae’zel during an Act 1 cutscene.With the help of some mods, the Redditor posted a picture of a Githyanki Cleric devoted to Selûne, the rival of Shadowheart’s deity. According to Baldur’s Gate 3 lore, Shar devotees are meant to kill every Selunite on sight.
While some players fantasized that this could be the perfect ‘enemies to lovers’ arc, others wondered why Shadowheart would agree to help a character that goes against everything she believes.
“Gith Cleric of Selûne would be interesting! Obviously, for Shadowheart banter, but Lae’zel would have some interesting comments as well?,” pointed out user ‘Rogen80’, “I know she called my (human) Cleric of Selûne a ‘heretic’ and a follower of a ‘false god’.”

“I Did a run as a Durge Githyanky Cleric of Selûne, specifically to interact with Shadowheart. It didn’t disappoint. Also a surprising amount of unique dialogue for githyanki with NPCs,” commented Reddit user ‘Ryth88’.
