The Soaring Aviator Valkyrie is getting some pretty significant nerfs in Apex Legends Season 13, which could see her popularity decline.

Apex Legends Season 13 is really looking to shake things up, with the patch notes detailing some pretty big changes.

Not only has Newcastle already threatened to disturb the meta, especially as Lifeline isn’t receiving any buffs, but Valkyrie’s popularity may now decline due to some interesting nerfs and changes in Apex Legends Season 13.

In the patch notes for the Apex Legends Season 13 update, Valkyrie received a nerf to her Ultimate ability “Skyward Dive.” Players can no longer freely spin while launching during her Ultimate ability, which had previously been a vital technique when avoiding enemy bullets.

Players will find it much easier to hit their bullets on an enemy taking the Skyward Dive straight up, especially if they are already on low health.

This is a huge nerf to Valkyrie’s Ultimate, as it was previously used to get away from sticky situations with ease, but now Valkyrie players will have to be much more cautious about taking off.

Further, this isn’t the only nerf Valkyrie has received in Season 13, as some other Out of Bounds nerfs have indirectly affected her kit as well. Now in Season 13, Legends will not be able to use their abilities or active Passives while out of bounds, which includes Valkyrie’s Jet Packs.

Players have been reacting to this change in the Apex Legends subreddit, with one user even stating that “it’s literally the perfect nerf to Valk without actually nerfing her.”

Valkyrie has been extremely strong and popular since her arrival back in Season 9, so perhaps these changes will balance the Legend and offer more counters when fighting against her.

We’ll have to wait and see how Valkyrie performs throughout Season 13 to fully say how much these nerfs have impacted the Legend. For now, check out how the Kraber nerfs have impacted the weapon’s one-shot headshot potential.
