Apex Legends devs are finally fixing glitch that makes Mirage’s Ultimate useless

Mirage should be the perfect counter to Seer in Apex Legends but a frustrating glitch makes his Ultimate completely useless against Season 10’s Recon Legend. Luckily, the devs are aware of the issue and a fix will be on the way.

Although a battle royale at its core, Apex Legends has set itself apart thanks to its hero shooter mechanics. Each Legend has their own powerful ability that can be a direct counter to another, leading to tight squad play and a thriving competitive scene.

While Mirage’s decoys should be a direct counter to Seer’s heartbeat scanner, a frustrating glitch has made it so that this isn’t the case. Luckily, the issue is now on Respawn Entertainment’s radar.

Seer in Apex Legends

Apex Legends content creator and pro Albralelie kicked off the discussion by suggesting that “Mirage counters the f**k out of Seer on paper,” where all of his deployable decoys should be picked up by Seer’s Heart Seeker ability.

However, that’s not quite how it works. It was pointed out that Seer’s scan will only highlight the real Mirage, making their decoys completely useless.

This conversation was spotted by Respawn’s Senior Producer Josh Medina, who asked the support team to “bug this for me and send to legends team.” This confirms that it is a bug and not an intended feature. With the team now aware of the issue, we should see a fix finally arrive in a future update.

With how well-known a bug this was, the Apex Uncovered subreddit were shocked that this appears to be the first Respawn have heard about it. However, some suggested that they’ve probably just moved its priority up.

Some argued that Mirage’s Ultimate shouldn’t counter Seer because the decoys don’t have a heartbeat, but when taking other android characters such as Revenant into account, many believed that game balance should trump realism.

The bug hasn’t been added to their Trello board of issues, so there’s no ETA yet. Season 14 is set for August though, and should include a ton of balance changes and bug fixes.
