Pokemon players facing Whiscash might have a hard time figuring out its weaknesses and resistances so here’s everything you need to know about the Whiskers Pokemon.

Whiscash has been a part of almost every Pokemon game since its first appearance in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Also known as the Whiskers Pokemon, it can be found swimming in rivers and lakes of mainline games.

For players that might have some trouble with this particular Pokemon, here’s everything you need to know about Whiscash weaknesses, resistances, and immunities.

What type is Whiscash in Pokemon

Whiscash is a dual Water and Ground-type Pokemon. Since it looks like a big catfish, many players might confuse it for a pure Water-type, which can be troublesome.

Players were hoping for a Paldean version of Whiscash in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

All Whiscash weaknesses in Pokemon

As a dual Water and Ground-type Pokemon, Whiscash is weak against Grass-type Attacks.

While this only leaves one weakness to exploit, keep in mind that it’s a double weakness (x4). This is because both Ground-type and Water-type Pokemon are weak against Grass-type moves in the Pokemon franchise.

All Whiscash resistances in Pokemon

Being a dual Water and Ground-type Pokemon, Whiscash can resist Poison, Rock, Steel, and Fire-type attacks. Thanks to its type combination, Whiscash is also immune to Electric-type moves. Keep in mind that this doesn’t apply to Pokemon Go since the mobile game has no immunities in battles.

In summary, the best way to defeat Whiscash is with a Grass-type Pokemon. In case you don’t have one on your team, keep in mind that Whiscash has a huge HP bar you’ll need to deplete. The rest of its Stats are fairly balanced, so you can hit it with both Special and Physical attacks that deal neutral damage.
