Microsoft has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now backwards compatible on Xbox One, allowing fans to play the title again on Xbox One.

For those that already own either a disc version or digital version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox 360, you can now play Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox One. If you own the disc, insert the disc in the Xbox One tray. If you owned it digitally, visit the Xbox One Store now on Xbox One to download the title.

With backwards compatibility, all Modern Warfare 3 DLCs are also available to play on Xbox One. Modern Warfare 3 featured four DLC Map Packs, all of which can be used in the backwards compatibility. You must own the content in order to play it.

In addition, since the servers are the same Xbox 360 servers, your stats will be exactly as before. If you were banned on Modern Warfare 3, you will not be able to play it now.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 joins Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 on Xbox One’s backwards compatibility program.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was originally released in November 2011 and developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games.
