Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 has introduced a number of new bundles for players to buy but players have called out one of the most expensive, labeling it “pay-to-lose.”

The launch of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 brought a ton of content to both games. Battle royale players finally welcomed the return of one-shot Sniper Rifles, while multiplayer fans got new maps along with Gunfight mode.

As is the case with each major update, Season 3 also added some new bundles to the CoD Store for players to pick up. However, some of the DMZ packs have been called “pay-to-win” as they offered permanent upgrades, causing the devs to make some balancing changes.

Now, the community has hit out at another Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 bundle that they feel is “overpriced” and comes with significant gameplay disadvantages.

Reddit user ‘TSM-HabZ’ shared a screenshot of the Cyber Riot Tracer Pack and its contents, which costs 2,400 CoD Points in exchange for a Calisto Operator skin, two Blueprints, a Charm, a Large Decal, and a Loading Screen.

Players were quick to respond, criticizing the “ridiculous” cost of the bundle considering the number of rewards.

“[There are] some damn good packs they’ve been making but literally all of it is extremely overpriced,” said ‘JakeMins.’ “I’d be willing to spend money if the prices weren’t so f**ked.”

Others took issue with the price of the Tracer Pack compared to the original cost of Modern Warfare 2 at launch. “The game is 70 dollars. How is THIS a third of the price????” asked Specialist-Artistic.’

Meanwhile, many players also pointed out that the Codex skin included in the bundle could actually come with some significant drawbacks in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 matches.

“[It’s] pay-to-lose with how much you’re gonna be standing out with that skin and laser,” argued ‘Cheezewiz239, with another agreeing: “Your character literally glows in-game. If you wanna spend $20 to have a quantifiable disadvantage go for it.”

While buying the Cyber Riot Tracer Pack is completely optional, fans are clearly unhappy with how much the bundle costs. More Tracer Packs are likely to arrive in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded, so we’ll have to wait and see if the prices are adjusted.
