Agents in Valorant had a huge balance overhaul in Episode 8 Act 1, but the update has fans trying out new characters and falling in love with them. Here’s what the Valorant community has been talking about.

Valorant players are still getting used to the huge overhaul Agents went through after the Episode 8 Act 1 update. This new set of balance changes has impacted each characters’ meta, especially Skye’s and Iso’s, which patch 8.01 focused on.

While many fans are still loyal to their mains after all of Riot Games’ buffs and nerfs, some users took it to Reddit to debate over which character surprised them the most during matches. “For me it’s Brimstone. I always knew he was good/solid, but when I started I was afraid of placing smokes wrong, so I never played him,” explained Redditor ‘SirVampyr.’

The user admitted that they even thought Brimstone was “too basic,” but after this week, they got the hang of his skills. “So much to play around / fake with his smokes. So much zoning potential. Didn’t think I’d ever like playing him,” they explained.

Some players quickly agreed with the OP, and admitted thinking that the Agent seemed “super bland, super boring,” but trying out his kit changed their minds. “Reason is because he’s the king of stalling. Stalling on defense, stalling for post-plant, etc. You really don’t appreciate stalling potential until you’re winning free rounds with it,” commented user ‘Redacted_G1Tch.’

However, other Valorant fans admitted being pleasantly surprised by Astra, an Agent that players often find intimidating to use. “I’ve always been interested in her abilities, so a few days ago I said ‘f*ck it’ and unlocked her, and I’ve been having so much fun since then. I appreciate how flexible she can be, she can fake smoke, lurk, switch between aggressive and passive playstyle, and you can play mind games with the enemy through her kit,” described user ‘almondenigma.’

Other “underappreciated” Agents turned out to be Phoenix, whom players thought their kit was “too general”: ” He’s basically a jack-of-all-trades but master of none type of Agent, so I thought that I’d be better off going with a more specialized Agent instead,” explained Redditor ‘NoStructure5034.’

“But I finally started playing him this act, and he’s actually really good. He’s super flexible (especially with his ult) and you can adapt to so many situations playing him. I’m in low elo too, so I actually try to entry into site unlike so many Jetts and Reynas that just lurk instead,” pointed out the user.

And that’s everything on which Agents are the most “underappreciated” in Valorant. If you want to know more about Riot Games’ FPS, you can check all weekly challenges in Episode 8 Act 1 or why players slam Radianite as “worst monetization model.
