Fans of the Pokemon franchise celebrated a heated debate over which Mega Evolutions would be better to return to the game, and which new Pokemon should have a Mega power-up in the next game.

For Pokemon trainers, strong species are the core of the Mon battle game, and though many of them have their favorites for Pokemon VGC, it’s also a fact that most of the PvE content that the games have involves building a strong team.

In the latest DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Indigo Disk, building a solid team was key to challenging the BB League and its powerful trainers.

So, it’s no surprise that this topic is been brought to debate among Pokemon fans once more: “If Mega Evolution were to return in a future generation, what Pokémon would y’all want to get one?”

Posted by Reddit user ‘DeadHeat16’ on the Pokemon subreddit, this post quickly gained momentum, as players debated what Pokemon should receive a Mega Power up in a future setting of the franchise.

One of the players stated: “I would have liked the Gen Six starters to get megas, I know Greninja got a special form but the others didn’t.” Another user answered, saying: “Kinda funny how the generation that gave us megas the starters didn’t get megas.”

Ironically, Mega Evolutions are considered a gimmick introduced during Gen Six games, but the starters from said Generation didn’t receive the chance to become Mega Evolved forms.

Meanwhile, another Pokemon fan mentioned some species that could use a power-up: “Johto Starters, Sinnoh Starters, Ninetales, Arcanine, Luxray, Dewgong would be a good start for me.” To what Reddit user ‘newyork100sp’ responded: “Dewgong is ridiculously weak, he needs a whole new evolution.”

Some of the highly requested suggestions for the new Megas also include Flygon, Dragonite, Mew, Butterfree, Tropius, Beartic, Zebritska, and Mightyena.

If Game Freak were to bring back the Mega Evolution mechanic into the core games, it would make sense to pay attention to what the fans are requesting. However, it is unlikely that the devs take this in mind, as they have mentioned on several occasions that the Terastalize phenomenon is here to stay.

In the meantime, you can learn everything you need to know about the Terastalize gimmick, and here’s all the info about the new Stellar Tera Type.
