The Valentine’s Day event in Pokemon Go seems to have got no love from players who are disappointed with the “underwhelming” spawns, tasks, and grind during the occasion.

Valentine’s Day celebrations were ringed in Pokemon Go with the Carnival of Love event, featuring several pink-colored Pokemon, themed around love, such as Spinda, Oricorio, Heart Trim Furfrou, and Luvdisc among others.

But, it looks like the community didn’t warm up to the hype, as they took to a Reddit post by a user named ‘Rubberducky690’ to vent their frustrations with the event.

The post, titled: “This is such an underwhelming event,” had the OP expressing their disappointment with Quaxly spawns being useless, not making Oricorio’s regional variants accessible worldwide, no Spinda Research, and extremely low odds of Furfrou spawns, as they called the event “awful.”

A player wrote: “I’m still waiting for a single Furfrou to pop up so I can finish the Research. I don’t understand how I’m not seeing any Furfrou when all the other required catches are everywhere.”

Another added that they haven’t even seen even one Furfrou pop up in the “Nearby” menu, leaving them bummed about the event.

After the Dragon event which gave Pokemon Go fans plenty of rare and popular species to catch, many stated that they were “disheartened” with how the Valentine’s Day event turned out.

That’s not all as trainers slammed the event-exclusive spawns. “Has there been a worse spawn pool? Haven’t played at [all] but for a few minutes for this dud event,” a user said, while another remarked, “This was an underwhelming event for sure. I got bored fast. Quaxly. Skitty. Bunch of Pokemon I don’t need for sure.”

Though Pokemon Go is notorious for such events, the community still manages to make the most of them, thanks to shiny hunting. But, even that has a “bust” as shiny Oricirio is a regional, giving limited availability, and shiny Spinda is locked behind a paywall.

A player summed up the experience by stating: “It’s definitely one of the worst events since I picked the game back up.” If you’re sick of the spawns around you, here’s how you can get some rare Pokemon Go finds such as Frigibax and Larvesta.
