Niantic announced a Squirtle Community Day Classic makeup event through their official Twitter after complaints on behalf of the player community. According to the devs, login issues made it really difficult to participate in the original event.

The company behind Pokemon Go announced a makeup event to apologize for the login issues that plagued the recent Community Day Classic Squirtle event. Due to certain accessibility issues, many players could not access the time-sensitive event.

Many players stated that the game had a pop-up screen with the quote “currently unavailable” when they tried to log in to their accounts.

Luckily, the new event date is set for Sunday, July 23, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. This comes just one day after the Riolu Hatch day event.

The Pokemon Go Squirtle Community Day Classic makeup event announcement in the official blog explained the reason behind the makeup: “Due to the log-in issues experienced by those using Pokemon Trainer Club accounts during Community Day Classic: Squirtle on July 9, we’re holding a special global makeup event for all Trainers on Sunday, July 23, 2023”.

As for the specific reasons for these issues, Niantic have yet to divulge the information. According to the information provided by the official channels, the event is going to bring back the same Rewards and Research from the original event. Here is a detailed list of the rewards from the Pokemon Go Community Day Classic Squirtle makeup event:

  • 1/4 Egg hatch distance using incubators during the event.
  • Incense and Lure Modules will last three hours.
  • Snapshots taken during the event will trigger a Squirtle encounter.

Players who purchased the $1 Exclusive Special Research Story will also gain access to the same research during this event. Those who didn’t purchase the ticket will have another chance to do so. We will keep you updated if more information comes to light.
