Despite some criticism aimed towards the Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event, players have come together in unison to praise some of the special new skins found in the Hero gallery.

The tonal shift from loot boxes to the free-to-play model has seen more of a reliance on players buying skins in Overwatch 2, although many players do actually wish that the system had never been changed.

Regardless, it means that when themed or seasonal events come around, Blizzard add a bunch of new paid skins for players to buy.

Some have been outed as being too expensive at times, but the new Winter Wonderland 2022 event has added lots of new skins to the Hero gallery, showing what’s to come.

Shared by Overwatch 2 Reddit user Ozzy82, more than 10 new Hero outfits are going to be added to the game in the future.

They shared a full gallery featuring new skins for the likes of Roadhog, Hanzo, Mei, and Bastion – channeling his inner gingerbread house.

Even though they are only going to be pay-to-own skins, lots of commenters gave high praise to the selection of incoming outfits.

“Thanks for sharing these! Honestly some of these skins are really good! Too bad these will only be obtainable in the shop,” exclaimed one of the top comments, and another one said: “Amazing skins that I will never own.”

Many players do wish that they could work towards new skins, but if money is given to blizzard, then one player believed: “[I hope] Whoever designed those skins gets a cut from the revenue it generates.”

It’s rare that a fanbase comes together to offer kind words for live service content, especially skins that cost real money, but Overwatch 2 players have clearly been enamored by the quality of these new skins.
