The AK-47 has been a staple of the Call of Duty series ever since it made its debut in Modern Warfare back in 2007. But CoD expert JGOD has shown off his loadout which suggests the old faithful is still bossing the meta in Warzone Season 4.

Picking the perfect loadout for Warzone can be a tricky business. That’s why many turn to content creators like JGOD for tips and hints as to how they should set up.

JGOD is a YouTuber with two channels geared towards helping players improve at Call of Duty. He’s spent much of this season highlighting the best ways for players to get the upper hand in the Battle Royale. Recently he uploaded videos detailing a great OTs 9 loadout to try and how to win more gunfights.

In the latest video on his second channel, More JGOD, the creator teams up with StoneMountain64, OPMarked and 7th Sleeper for a few rounds of Warzone. Early in the clip, he explains to the viewer what loadout he will be using, revealing that he is playing with an AK-47 with plenty of attachments.

He mentions that he is using the Cold War variation of the weapon in a sniper support class, fitted with:

  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Magazine: 40 Rnd
  • Handle: GRU Elastic Wrap
Kar98k Warzone

For long-range he’s using the equally beloved Kar98k, which has also emerged as a favorite of Season 4. In terms of attachments, he has chosen:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″ Barrel
  • Optic: Sniper Scope
  • Stock: STVOL Precision Comb
  • Laser: Tactical Laser

JGOD spends the rest of the video putting his loadout into practice with great effect. Along with his squad, he goes on to win six matches in a row. Five of the games were even found to have hackers involved, as one member of the team was using the Overwolf Warzone tracker.

The AK-47 and sniper combination gives the loadout a nice balance of long and mid-range. Players who go for the Kar98k and MP5 or shotgun can often be caught out when enemies aren’t directly on top of them and there isn’t time to line up a snipe.

As JGOD proves in his video, opting for the AK means you can still hold your own when you’re stuck in a building under fire from all around, and you haven’t got to wait until enemies have made their way inside to be effective.

While this loadout proved incredibly effective for JGOD in his video, the imminent release of the Warzone Season 5 update is likely to see a change of the meta for the coming weeks. As always, we’ll keep you posted with all the latest.
