With NBA 2K24 at the tail end of its cycle, and the NBA season all wrapped up, the attention has now shifted towards NBA 2K25. 2K Games will begin drip-feeding information about the upcoming installment in the long-running franchise soon with pre-orders already active.

Until then, here’s everything we know about the game, including the release date.

NBA 2K25 release date

NBA 2K25 will be released on September 6, 2024. The devs confirmed the release date along with the cover star reveal.

2K Games are yet to announce an early access period for the game, although this remains unlikely since recent entries into the franchise didn’t have one.

Platforms

The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Despite calls from fans to ditch last-gen consoles, the upcoming title will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch. It’s worth noting that the PC port this time around will be the ‘next-gen’ version of the game, so it’ll have the same features as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.

NBA 2K25 Cover stars

The Standard edition of the game features Jayson Tatum on the cover. He’s joined by Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson on the All-Star edition cover. She also stars on the cover of the WNBA edition. Lastly, Vince Carter gets the spotlight on the cover of the Hall of Fame edition.
